This is a short one. I just read a 2004 article by a part-American Indian writing for National Geographic which describes encouraging developments among American Indian tribes and nations in America, economic progress and betterment of Indian lives.  It was part of a National Geographic series.  Unfortunately, the link has since become invalid. You could do some exploring on the National Geographic website to see if you can find it. Search for “Indian Renaissance.”
